Name: Umer Rahman (umes, umeskiz) Interests, hobbies, obsessions, perseverations etc: Singing (In front of girls that like it and don't run away) or otherwise by myself, listening to songs and playing them on the piano (I've been doing it since I was 2), looking at pictures of poorer countries (especially african ones; love the scenery, its beautiful!!!), looking at maps, collecting cologne, learning and practicing Islam, listening to music on my ipod and my cell phone, taking pictures and making movies on my digital camera. The Teachers have been very understanding of my differences, but the students have not; working part-time as a cashier at Dairy Queen. Where you live in the world: Calgary, Alberta, Canada Marital status, # of kids etc.: Single Comments: I have a mild form of autistic disorder. My speech was never delayed. There are times when I feel people expect me to say something but I remain silent. I am really sensitive to people looking angrily/disapprovingly at me. When I don't understand why, it can be really frustrating because to me they seem to be getting pissed off without cause. My symptoms have been ranging wildly. When I was a toddler in England, I had severe temper tantrums and meltdowns similar to that of someone with severe autism. In high school last year, my symptoms were so mild that a girl invited me to her friends party. Woohoo! |
