Name: David Interests, hobbies, obsessions, perseverations etc: I can't drive but I can hike and ski. My various obsessions and varied behavior began after they removed my brain tumor a year ago. My obsessions can be anything that comes along I deem worthy. E-mail is a great way to communicate one's obsessions. Once I grab on to something, I can't let it go; this gets me into a bit of trouble on occasion. I now have much more tolerance for other's issues. Year of birth: I'm 49 Profession, area of study, etc: I was a carpenter (it's hard to be a carpenter if you can't drive and think clearly) Where you live in the world: I live in the White Mtns. of NH. Marital status, # of kids etc.: I have kids, 6 and 10, with my ex-wife, (who's behavior resembles Asperger's, although she hates the idea of being labeled, as do others I know.) Comments: I try hard not to expound in detail, even though I find what I'm saying so interesting. I try hard to be kind; not irritated or angry. I try hard to just smile and keep my mouth shut; be a good listener. I try to think of projects to do together with the children. I find that exercise, walking, hiking, riding my bike, is the best medicine; especially for anxiety. Here I am at the top of Left Gully in Tuckerman's Ravine last week 5-8-04. |
