Two Canadian companies have announced that they are teaming up to develop specialty biologics used in cancer treatments. PEI-based BioVectra develops proprietary technologies for PEGylation mechanisms for drug delivery. This partnership with Therapure BioPharma Inc., an Ontario company will build on BioVectra's expertise in the production of modifiedbiologic molecules using a proprietary MPEG technology. Chemaphor Inc., a publicly traded biotechnology research and development company located in PEI recently announced the appointment of Dr. Paul Dick as Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Dick, who holds a veterinary degree in infectious diseases and immunology, comes from Elanco (a division of Eli Lilly and Company) where he was COO of Naturagen Health Solutions. November 3, 2008 - According to Canada's Innovation Leaders 2008, an annual report published by Research Infosource, the University of Prince Edward Island has been ranked #4 out of 17 undergraduate Canadian Universities and was the top Canadian undergraduate university in research income growth from 2002 to 2007. I was honoured lately to receive a gift from a client of mine who was looking to buy a PEI Real Estate property in Prince Edward Island, Canada. During email communications, I had mentioned to my client that Jack Nicklaus, and Tom Watson were coming to the Brudenell Golf Course in Brudenell, PEI near the scenic town of Montague. To my great surprise, this very considerate client said that she would courier two VIP tickets to attent the great golf tournament. The tickets arrived and my son and I attended the great event. The VIP tickets meant that we were treated like royalty - access to the golf club for free food and beveridges, and free parking right at the Brudenell Golf Course. My son and I had two days that we will never forget as long as we live. Thank you very much to my special real estate client.

A very well known Saw Mill in Murray River, Prince Edward Island, Canada, burned to the ground recently. The Saw Mill run by well liked PEI resident Gerry Moore was a valuable business to the many local residents. Mr Moore cut up the raw trees brought into his yard into all kinds of sized hardwood and softwood. He even sold the slabs or bark of the trees that many residents bought for firewood.
But the story is not totally negative. A benefit concert is being held for Mr Moore and contributions will go to building a new saw mill. It is highly likely that Mr Moore will have a lot of local help in with the project. This will not only be of great benefit to Mr Moore and his sons but will also benefit all of the many residents of Murray River and surrounding areas of PEI.
Murray River is a beautiful fishing community in southeastern PEI that would be well worth your while to visit.

Garnet Buell of Murray River, Prince Edward Island, Canada, was recently chosen for the distinction of the Order of Prince Edward Island. The honour recognizes Prince Edward Islanders who have shown excellent leadership in their community.
Garnet has been very active in raising money for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown, PEI. He and his committee have raised great amounts of money for the critically needed equipment for Prince Edward Island's main hospital.

Answer: No, a non-resident pays more property taxes per year than a resident of PEI
2. If a buyer purchaser a property in PEI, does he or she have to build on it within a certain period of time?
Answer: No, unless there is a rare restrictive convenant on a property, a buyer of a PEI property builds on it when he or she wants to build on it.
3. Do I need a PEI lawyer to buy a PEI property?
Answer: Yes, you need a PEI lawyer to do a search to make sure that the property is legally secure for you to buy.
4. Are all properties in PEI surveyed and pinned?
Answer: No, it is advisable when buying a PEI property to have it surveyed and pinned so that you know the exact boundaries of the property. This would involve hiring a good surveying company on Prince Edward Island.

Answer: Yes of course, anyone can acquire a PEI property.
6. What are restrictive covenants?

One of the classic challenges for a small web shop is to how to cater to the needs of small clients who, despite their smallness (or perhaps because of it), want to be able to maintain their websites themselves.
It's easy to provide a solution to someone looking to spend $50,000 on a site -- you just build them a custom-tailored content management system that fits them like a glove.
But what about someone looking to spend $5000? Or $1500?
When you're a small company like us, it's more difficult to maintain the conceit that there's a third entity called "the company." Which is why it's so hard to have a "company website."

Since last fall, The Old Farmer's Almanac has been selling access to digital content through its website using a system we developed.
They started out with offering access to a full-year Astrological Timetable, then added a Moon's Sign Calendar.
In September came high-quality PDF downloads of long-range weather forecasts, the complete 1905 version of the Almanac and a collection of charts and guides.
The City Cinema website is all about schedule information. While the site has information about ticket prices and a map to the cinema, most people consult it to find out "what's playing tonight."
As such, it only makes sense to try and deliver this schedule information through means other than the web browser, to let City Cinema's customers integrate better the schedule information into their everyday lives.
That's why we created an iCal file that lets users of Apple's iCal and the Mozilla Sunbird desktop calendar program "subscribe" to the calendar and, as a result, have an always up-to-date City Cinema schedule on their desk.
