The Travelling Exhibit Network is coordinated by
the Community Museums Association
of Prince Edward Island. The Network is designed
to enable small to medium sized
museums to develop and distribute quality travelling
exhibits that are artifact poor but
information rich. Exhibits are designed to allow the
hosting museum to incorporate objects
from their own collection to interpret the exhibit's
theme.
The Network allows even the smallest museums to share
their stories.
Exhibits could include exhibitions that already exist
or those created specifically
designed for travel. The goal of the Travelling Exhibit
Network is to
promote the development and exchange of high quality
exhibitions
that are inexpensive but professional in appearance.
The Travelling Exhibit Network is part of a larger initiative
known as
the Heritage Network Atlantic which is a cooperative
project between
the 4 Museum Associations of Atlantic Canada.
