  • Acadian Museum/Musee Acadien (Miscouche)
  • The Acadian Museum offers visitors an audio-visual presentation, a permanent exhibit outlining the story of the Acadians of PEI from 1720 to the present and a temporary exhibit area displaying various aspects of Acadian life. Visit the museum's archives which contain over 30,000 genealogical records related to Island Acadians. The Acadian Museum is part of the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation.

  • Alberton Museum (Alberton)
  • Located in the former Courthouse, a national historic site, the Alberton Museum and Genealogical Center houses a large general collection of objects from the area's earlier days including costumes, china, silver, toys and more. Of special interest are the collections relating to the silver fox industry and Mi'kmaq culture.

  • Ellerslie Shellfish Museum (Bideford)
  • The museum's purpose, to preserve the history and heighten the awareness of the public regarding the value of the shellfish industry in the local area, is reflected through its exhibits. Displays include aquariums featuring live native fish and shellfish, as well as artifacts relating to species identification, the history of oyster cultivation, and the growth and culture of shellfish. Oysters & mussels are available for sale in small quantities.

  • Eptek National Exhibition Centre (Summerside)
  • Named for the Mi'kmaq word for "warm spot," Eptek's spacious gallery features changing history and fine-arts exhibits from across Canada. Located on Summerside's waterfront, the Eptek National Exhibition Centre presents a year-round schedule of in-house and nationally touring exhibits of fine arts, history, science and crafts. The Eptek Centre is a part of the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation.

  • Green Park Shipbuilding Museum (Port Hill)
  • Green Park Shipbuilding Museum traces the history of the Island's once mighty shipbuilding industry. It also offers visitors a glimpse of a by-gone era through the restored Victorian rooms of the Historic Yeo House. Green Park is a part of the PEI Museum & Heritage Foundation.

  • International Fox Museum and Hall of Fame Inc. (Summerside)
  • Housed in the historic Holman Homestead at 286 Fitzroy St., the International Fox Museum and Hall of Fame is dedicated to preserving the history of the world-wide fox fur industry. Through charcoal portraits, photographs, folk and fine art, and video presentations, the museum depicts the men and women who established this branch of agriculture a century ago in western Prince County, and tells why a pair of foxes could sell for $35,000.
    The International Fox Museum is now a part of the Wyatt Hertiage Centre.

  • Keir Memorial Museum (Malpeque Village)
  • Housed in the former Keir Memorial Presbyterian Church, the museum displays artifacts depicting the cultural life of Malpeque and surrounding districts. These include memorabilia and furnishings from local homesteads, farming and oyster fishing implements, and items illustrating the 200-year commercial life of Princetown-Malpeque. Of special interest is an 1887 horse-drawn hearse.

  • Lucy Maud Montgomery Lower Bedeque School (Lower Bedeque)
  • The museum is a re-creation of the schoolhouse near the time when world renowned novelist L.M. Montgomery taught there in 1879. The house where she boarded is still located only 100 yards from the school.

     

  • Prince Edward Island Potato Museum (O'Leary)
  • Located in O'Leary, Canada's only Potato Museum was opened in 1993 and houses interpretive displays and machinery related to the Potato Industry. Also located on the site are a Community Museum, Heritage Chapel, Log Barn with farm implements, and a Little Red Schoolhouse. While visiting, take the opportunity to visit our Gift Shop and try a potato burger at our canteen.

  • Tignish Museum (Tignish)
  • The Tignish Museum interprets the history of the Tignish area and is open seasonally. It is located in the Tignish Cultural Centre, built to celebrate the bicentennial of the community of Tignish.

  • Veterans Memorial Military Museum (Kensington)
  • Established in 1985, the museum displays a variety of military objects including uniforms, medals, hand weapons, flags, photographs and maps. Artifacts include items from the Boer War, World Wars I and II and the Korean War.

  • West Point Lighthouse Museum (West Point)
  • The West Point Lighthouse, built in 1875, is spectacularly located at PEI's southwest tip overlooking the Northumberland Strait. Photographs, maps, tools, lamps, log books and other artifacts tell the story of PEI lighthouses with emphasis on the importance seafaring had in the early history of the West Point area. The West Point Lighthouse also offers overnight guest accommodations, a restaurant and a crafts shop.

  • The Green (Tignish)
  • Off route 12, approximately 3 km north of Tignish on Founders Lane. Visit the landing site of the eight founders in 1799. Find an archeological protected area of 50m radius. An area of natural, unspoiled beauty. Follow the foot-steps of the first settlers by strolling on the trails that lead to the bridge's observation deck at the Tignish inlet. Excellent view of Tignish Fisheries harbor, light house and bird sightings. The trail leads to the site of the first church and cemetery. Learn about the history of the founders and the building of a community. History meets nature at its best. An Eco-Tourism site.

  • The Lennox Island Mi'kmaq Cultural Centre (Lennox Island)

    The Lennox Island Mi'kmaq Cultural Centre aims to promote public understanding of the Mi'kmaq Experience while contributing to the survival of local culture and traditions.

  • Bideford Parsonage Museum (Bideford)
  • This house, originally the residence of Thomas H. Pope., Telegraph Operator and Accountant, was purchased by the Bideford Methodist Church in 1883 to serve as their Parsonage. Authoress L.M. Montgomery boarded here in 1894-95 while teaching school in the community.

  • Wyatt Heritage Centre (Summerside)
  • A visit to the Wyatt House in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, is more like a social gathering with friends and family than an outing to a museum. After visitors have stopped marveling at the dramatic effect of the expansive rose and green 1928 Windsor Castle wallpaper in the entrance hallway, a welcoming interpreter introduces them to the Wyatt family. As guests stroll through the pretty 1867 Victorian home, they begin to feel as if they knew the small family.

  • International Children's Memorial Place - Scales Hydro-Electric Museum (Scales Pond)
  • The mission of the International Children's Memorial Place is to provide a place that is environmentally conducive to the promotion and improvement of both mental and physical health through nature, communication, and education. This promotion will help foster a greater appreciation for life and our surroundings, thereby developing a greater personal independence and self-esteem, to all those who visit this place.
