Brian Curley short Bio re music.

The eldest of thirteen children of Richard and FrancesCurley, I grew up on a farm on the Brudenell River. Dundarave Golf Academy is now operating in the house where I lived.

I attended elementary school in Georgetown Royalty, Roseneath, and Georgetown.
High School days and two years of university were spent at St. Dunstan's University.
I probably majored in listening to the Tremtones and learning to play the guitar during my time in collage.
I started singing at local talent shows at age ten and won three contests gaining T.V. & radio air play by age fifteen. I received my first guitar when I was fifteen, and in Dec. 1960, I played in Sherwood with the Royaltones. ( Kenny Rooney, Gordon Blanchard )
In 1961 I co-founded the first Rock & Roll band in Kings Co PEI, The Thunderbolts.

Many bands and dance halls later, I am presently playing mostly rock'n'roll from the 50s & 60s with Freewheelin', a local country-rock band.

MUSIC IN MY LIFE AND A LIFE IN MUSIC

IIT'S ALL ABOUT MUSIC

My first effort at recording was as co-producer of Dot MacAulay's cassette recording "The Maple Leaf". Since then I'v done projects for Gill Nowlan, Sharon Winters, and song writer Emmett DeCoursey.

The cassette "Back Home" is my first release recorded at my home studio I call "Thunderbolt Sound". It takes me back to my musical home in the good ol' rock & roll and country music I love.

Guitar, bass, and drum machine are by myself. Gill Nowlan, Lewis Lavandier, and Chester Llewellyn, provide steel, drums, and piano.
Background vocals are by Maggie Longaphee and my daughter, Arlene.

I hope the tape will bring you enjoyment and memories of "the good old days".
Early musical influences: Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, Buddy Knox, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jim Reeves and the Tremtones
The making of "BACK HOME"

The Cassette Tape "BACK HOME" was recorded on a 4 track cassette tape recorder and bounced to
DAT to obtain extra tracks. It was a crude way of doing the job but was a great experience.
