Parks Canada and the Confederation Centre of the Arts are working in collaboration to present ‘A Place Worth Dancing For’ on Cavendish and Brackley main beaches.

A new interpretative program is taking place in the Prince Edward Island National Park this summer. Parks Canada and the Confederation Centre of the Arts are working in collaboration to present a forty-minute bilingual mini-musical on Cavendish and Brackley main beaches. The plot revolves around a French director who has been hired to make a movie of the Park. As an interpreter tours the director around the Park she meets a variety of park characters that are all vying to be the star of the movie. Who do you think the star should be?

Two interpreters as well as five dancers from dance umbrella will present the activity, which will include music, skits and dance. The dancers, Emma Zinck, Marissa Laderoute, Kayla Shaw, Clare Cullen and Lauren Lawless are all very excited to be a part of this production. Following each performance the Parks Canada interpreters and dance umbrella dancers will be available for further questions and information. Mindy Walker is the costume designer and Julia Sauve is the choreographer.

‘A Place Worth Dancing For’ will run from July 12 to August 16. The Brackley main beach performance will be on Fridays and The Cavendish main beach performance will be on Saturdays. The performances begin at 2 pm and will be cancelled in the case of inclement weather.
