Kerri Wynne MacLeod and Steve Sharratt will perform on October 3. Well-known Island singer/songwriter, Kerri Wynne is a favourite performer at Trailside. With Steve Sharratt on guitar and mandolin they perform a variety of traditional folk songs, ballads and jazz tunes.
Gary Fjellgaard and Friends will perform on October 4. Gary Fjellgaard is one of Canada’s best-known western roots and folk musicians. He was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of fame in 2005 and has fourteen CDs to his credit. He will perform with Darrel De La Ronde and Saskia, veteran performers who call their brand of country music “Prairie Folk.” Darrel and Saskia’s album Laura’s Kitchen was nominated for Album of the Year and Darrel was nominated for Aboriginal Artist of the Year in Saskatchewan. www.fjellgaard.bc.ca
Matt Minglewood, will perform his solo show, “The Story” on October 10 and 11. Matt is a Maritime rock legend who has released 12 recordings and received many awards, including three gold records, two Juno nominations, two Canadian Country Music nominations, and a ECMA Lifetime Achievement Award. Saskatoon native, Toronto-based Suzie Vinnick plays on October 17. She has shared the stage with such musical icons as Bryan Adams, Colin James, Jimmie Vaughan and Ani Difranco. Her achievements include four MapleBlues Awards, a performance in Bosnia and the Persian Gulf, and many festivals and concerts across Canada.
Teresa Doyle and guests Andy and Robert MacIsaac will perform on October 18. Home grown singer songwriter, Teresa Doyle, is an award winning musician and vocalist with 9 recordings to her credit, her upcoming effort, Late Nite Parlour will make it 10. Teresa will accompany herself, acoustically. Opening the show will be guests, Andy and Robert MacIsaac, serving up their blend of dual acoustic, harmony filled, truth with melody, folk. www.teresadoyle.com
Ron Hynes and Dave Gunning will perform on October 21 and 22. These two East Coast musicians will collaborate in a special songwriting circle performance called “The Working Hands Tour” based on a song that they co-wrote. Newfoundland artist Ron Hynes is one of the East Coast’s most well-known and singer/songwriters. Ron has won many awards, including a 2007 ECMA for Male Solo Artist of the Year. Nova Scotia based artist Dave Gunning is one of Canada’s best up-and-coming singer-songwriters. Dave won two ECMAs in 2008, Male Artist of the Year and Folk Recording of the Year, for his new CD House for Sale.
