Edgefest # 9 will take place this Thanksgiving long weekend. The bands Junkmale and Edge reunite to rock Summerside’s Shipyard Market on October 11 from 10 pm to 2 am.
Junkmale features lead vocalist Karen Penton, the guitar of Mike Penton, and the rhythm section with Ron Penton on bass and Dennis Gallant on drums. Their set list is full of high energy dance/party oriented rock music primarily from the 80s along with some from 70s and the occasional current radio hit. Island rock band Edge is the 2006 Music PEI awards for Entertainer of the Year and Weekend Warrior of the Year. Members include Andy Gallant, Jason Arsenault, Chris Ahern, and Moe Hashie. Their cover show incorporate medleys of crowd pleasers and rock gems. The band is currently recording their follow-up album slated for release later this year. Edgefest Patrons must be 19 and over.
