The Buzz newspaper is distributed year-round through approximately 300 pick-up points across Prince Edward Island in such places as coffee shops, grocery stores, news stands, libraries, restaurants, hotels, motels, night clubs, information centres, convenience stores, retail stores, Holland College and UPEI.
In the tourist season this number increases as seasonal businesses open. In July and August the number of pick up points reaches 525 or more, including all PEI Provincial Visitor Information Centres and many local tourist information outlets.
In September through June 12,000 to 15,000 copies per month are printed and distributed.
In July and August 22,000 copies are printed and distributed.
There is a low return rate each month from most locations (0% - 2%).
Convention and meeting organizers regularly request copies for delegate packages.
The effectiveness of distribution points is monitored regularly, and adjustments are made to increase the supply to the busiest points. In downtown Charlottetown, distribution points are re-supplied weekly. New locations for distribution are regularly sought out.
PEI RESIDENTS PLEASE NOTE: If you are having difficulty finding a copy of The Buzz, please contact us and we will tell you about a pick-up point near you.
In downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia a limited number of copies of The Buzz are available from The Daily Grind, Atlantic News, and Blowers Street Paper Chase.
