BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The PEI Recreation and Sport Association for the Physically Challenged (PEIRSAPC) is a volunteer, non-profit organization established in January 1974 to support the participation by persons who are physically challenged in recreation and sport activities.

Over the years, athletes who are physically challenged from P.E.I. have achieved national and international recognition in sport. Recreation participation is enhanced and developed through a variety of local programs and provincial events.

The PEIRSAPC is governed and managed by a Board of Directors composed entirely of volunteers recruited from across PEI.

The Association employs two full time professional staff:

Tracy Guimond, Programs and Administrative Coordinator

Virtually all programs offered through and supported by the Association are carried out by volunteers and participants.
