  • East Point Lighthouse (East Point)
  • Built in 1867, this 64 foot octagonal tower is one of the Island's "first generation" lighthouses. Visitors who climb to the top are rewarded with a view of the "meeting of the tides" where the waters of the Northumberland Strait and the Gulf of Saint Lawrence blend and swirl.

  • Cape Bear Lighthouse (Cape Bear)
  • capbear1.jpg (284748 bytes)

Cape Bear was one of the seven Marconi stations that went into service in 1905.  In 1922 the Cape Bear station ceased operations. In 1999 an annex was added to the Cape Bear lighthouse to house a replica of the Marconi Station. It was opened to the public on Jun 12, 2000. The replica simulates the original station with equipment, period furniture, maps, charts, pictures and a model of the operator with an audio of how a message from the Titanic was received.

  • Cardigan River Heritage Centre (Cardigan)
  • No information available at this time.

  • Roma at Three Rivers (Montague)
  • Now visitors can travel back 275 years to the days when French entrepreneur Jean Pierre Roma established his commercial enterprise on Ile St. Jean, as Prince Edward Island was known then. A community group based in the Montague area has reconstructed and developed the site of his bustling settlement at Trois Rivières, and produced extensive touring information based on documents recording the thirteen years of this exciting period in Island history.
